City of Gardner Municipal Surplus Property Plan

Exploring City-owned parcels to redevelop for the benefit of our community

The City of Gardner has teamed up with the Horsley Witten Group (HW) and Camoin Associates through a grant from MassDevelopment to analyze all City-owned property and identify surplus properties best suited for responsible sale and redevelopment.

The goal is to make surplus properties more productive for the City and better neighbors for the community, through development that raises tax revenues and provides meaningful benefits for the City (such as housing or shops and services).

What is surplus property?

These are City-owned properties that are not currently being used for government or public operations or services and are unlikely to be needed in the future. Properties such as public schools, City offices, and municipal parks with active public uses are not considered surplus.
